Customers Concerned Q&As in Magnetic Window Cleaner Usage

Q1: How to measure the thickness of window glass?

A:  The first method we recommend is to use the technical tool to measure, and you can get the thickness of the glass directly.

Then if the technical tool isn’t available, you can use the simple ruler to measure like the below pictures. We have the formula  for you to calculate the window thickness. The thickness of glass = thickness of whole window frame - thickness of outer window frame - thickness of inner window frame.

Q2: How to choose the right magnetic window cleaner?

A: There are many kinds of windows, like single-glass, double-glazing and even triple-glazing. Different thickness of glass needs different magnetic force to use the window cleaner, so the thickness of the glass needs to be measured first so that you purchase the right window cleaner. If you don’t know the thickness but know the window is single-glass or double-glazing, you can choose the  adjustable magnetic window cleaner which can be used on the 4-30mm glass.

Q3: How to use the magnetic window cleaner safely without fingers being clamped and other people being hurt? 

A: As the magnetic force of the window cleaner is powerful, please read the instructions and watch the video carefully before your use, and follow each step to operate it. 

Firstly, hold the two sides of window cleaner and twist them 90 degrees in the opposite direction to open it. Don’t insert your fingers in the window cleaner to open it. After the two parts are parted, please keep them separate in a distance and then remove the plastic  separator. Thus two parts coming together because of the powerful magnetic force and fingers clamped could be prevented.

Secondly, before you start to clean the glass, please remember to hitch the safety rope to your hand. This is very important to prevent the window cleaner falling down and hurting other persons.

Thirdly, after you use it, you need to put the part of window cleaner with the safety rope on the desk, and put the plastic separator on it, and then use one hand to hold the other part and approach to the part on the desk slowly. In this process, keep your other hand away from the window cleaner, which can prevent it being clamped. And please do remember to use the plastic separator before you fold the window cleaner, or you may not open the window cleaner again because of the strong magnetic force. 

Q4:Will the magnetic window cleaner break the glass or the magnetic window cleaner damage itself  when the two parts get together on the glass? 

A: Please don’t let the two parts of the magnetic window cleaner get together from directly the opposite side. First of all, please put the part with safety rope on the outer side of the window, and then put the other part on the inner side of the window keeping at least 8in away from the outer part. Then slide them slowly along the window glass. If you do like this, the magnetic window cleaner won’t break the glass. 

Q5: Can the window cleaner wipe the glass cleanly? Will any scratches or water stains be left on the glass after wiping?

A: If you wipe the window as the following steps, the glass could be cleaned very well.

First, let the triangle shape of the window cleaner point up, and then smear the soap water in an arc-shaped path from the bottom to the top.

Second, let the triangle shape of the window cleaner point down, and then wipe the water stains in an arc-shaped path from the top to the bottom.

Third, move the window cleaner along the edge of the glass circularly, and the edge of the glass could be cleaned. 

If you spray the liquid soap or detergent directly on the glass, the first step could be skipped.

Q6: Why sometimes can’t the magnetic window cleaner be moved and why does the cleaner tremble during usage?

A: You need to spray or smear the liquid soap to make the window cleaner move fluently. And the magnetic force is so strong for the glass thickness that the cleaner may tremble.

Q7: Why does the window cleaner fall off easily during the usage? 

A: There are three possible reasons:

1)  You move the inner part of the window cleaner too fast, and the outer part can’t catch up with it and then the two parts are separated and fall.

2) When you wipe the edge of the window, the window cleaner hits the window frame hard and the magnetic connection is broken. 

3) The magnetic force of the window cleaner is too weak to wipe the glass of this thickness.

Q8: How to take down the window cleaner without smearing the cleaned window after usage?

A: Rotate the inner part of the window cleaner 90 degrees.

Q9: How to replace the accessories of the magnetic window cleaner to clean the dirty and large windows?

A: Before you use the window cleaner, the water storage sponge should be soaked first. And you can press the water storage sponge slightly when wiping to keep the cleaning sponge moist, thus the window cleaner can move smoothly. If the cleaning sponge is dirty, you can twist the plastic fastener 90 degrees and get it down, and then replace the cleaning sponge and rotate the fastener 90 degrees back.

Q10: How to handle if the squeegee comes out?

A: Insert the squeegee into the groove from the right side, and make sure that all the raised parts are tucked in the groove and then pull the squeegee to the very left side.

Q11: The two parts of the window cleaner get together without putting the plastic separator  in. How to open it?

A: You need to use one hand to fix the part with safety rope of the window cleaner to a solid countertop, and keep the other part suspended. And then twist the suspended part 45 degrees forcibly to divide them. Please do bear it in mind to put the plastic separator in next time.

Q12: How to adjust the magnetism of the 4-30mm adjustable magnetic window cleaner?

A: You need to put two parts of the magnetic window cleaner on the glass and then adjust the level from low to high to change the magnetism. After taking down the part of the window cleaner with magnetism adjustment button, you shake it and the button gets back to the first level.
