Reviews: Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt
Does it waste your time to climb up and down the ladder to get the tools? Do you always need to rummage the big tool bag strenuously to get the right tools? Are you always looking for the tools when you do the gardening? These are the problems that my husband and I meet in our daily life. My husband is an amateur electrician and carpenter and I always need to take care of our garden, there are so many tools in our basement key.

Today I bring you a very helpful tool pouch, and we are going to review it. First of all, let’s get to know some details of it.

This product is called Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt, which is made of 600*900D Oxford cloth and environmental PVC material.
There are a total of 6 pockets on this tool pouch, one main and big pocket and another 5 vertical pockets.
In the big main pocket, 4 multifunctional elastic loops are sewed on each long side.
And on the right lateral side, there is a nylon loop, which is about 3.7cm (1.46in) wide and the diameter of it can be about 4cm (1.58in).
In the back part of the tool pouch, there is a PE board between the two layers of Oxford cloth.
Between the two parts of folded PE board in the back side of this tool pouch, there is a wide Velcro fastener(hook-and-loop fastener). The hook is about 5cm (1.97in) long and 5cm (1.97in) wide and the loop is 7.8cm (3.07in) long and 4.2cm (1.65in) wide.
Besides, there is an adjustable belt with a tri-glide button and a stable buckle which is 137cm (53.98in) long and 3.8cm (1.5in) wide for this tool pouch.
The measurement of the tool pouch is 13.5 x 6 x 25cm (5.32*2.36*9.85in), and its weight is 0.3KG (0.66 lb).
The tool pouch comes with only one color, black. In the middle of this tool pouch, there is a large yellow brand logo baffect.
-Features-
After we get to know the details of the Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt, the features are the things that we concern most when we want to make a purchase decision. Now let’s dig out the features of this tool pouch.
The materials of this tool pouch are tear-resistant Oxford cloth and environmental PVC material. The PVC material is used on both lateral sides and the bottom of the largest pocket and the attached inner side of another 5 pockets. When we use this tool belt to hold tools, it can’t be torn apart by tools or other things easily. And the environmental PVC material can much strengthen the tool pouch and stop it from being punctured by sharp tools like screwdrivers from inside. And the strong materials give the tool pouch a weight capacity of 10KG.
Zoom in, looking at the stitches, they are so dense and even that the tool pouch seems very robust between the sewing gaps. Because of the tear-resistant material and the dense sewing, the pockets will not be broken easily no matter on the Oxford cloth or between the seams.
And the tool pouch gets the right size and weight, neither too big and heavy nor too small and light. If it is too big and heavy, it must be very difficult for us to carry it to do our work and we tend to get tired. If it is too small and light, there is no enough room to hold our necessary tools and the quality of the material may not meet the durability need. Thus this portable and right-sized tool pouch fits me very much and I like to use it to carry my tools when gardening.
Totally 6 pockets are there on this tool pouch. The depth of the biggest one which is sewed with 8 elastic fixed loops is 16cm (6.3in), and we can put some relatively larger and longer tools in it accordingly. The tools that are about 25cm (9.85in) or a little longer can be held in this pocket. My husband always fixed and arranged the level ruler, screwdriver and wrench etc. in it. Especially some sharp and long tools should be inserted into the elastic loops to fasten to escape falling and hurting our feet or other persons when we are on ladders or other high places, and protect the bottom of the tool pouch to last longer and protect the tools from abrasion at the same time.
The second largest pocket is much narrower and shallower than the biggest one. Smaller and shorter tools can be kept in this pocket. We can put the tools like electric tapes, screwdriver with voltage tester and drill bits etc. in it.
Two lateral pockets next to the second largest pocket are the smallest ones. We can pin the pincer pliers, nipper pliers or put the screwdriver with voltage tester or something like those in these two pockets.
The two frontal pockets are about 10cm (3.94in) deep and get relatively wide pocket mouth. We can put some tools which are comparatively fat but short like art knives in it or hang the flexible ruler on it.
Except six pockets, there is an extra hammer loop on the right side of the tool pouch. The loop band is wider and stronger after Baffect upgrades the tool pouch. It makes it much easier and safer to put the hammer in.
The PE board in the back part makes the tool pouch stiff and also can keep the tool pouch from falling when we hang it on the pockets of our trousers.
What's more, the Velcro fastener cooperates with the PE board to do the job. The 5*5cm(2.17*2.17in) hook and 7.8*4.2cm (3.07*1.65in) loop fastener can strongly grip together and help us to take down and move the tool pouch easily, which makes it much safer when we pin the tool pouch to our pants belt or the belt of the tool pouch itself and more convenient to change the position of the tool pouch when we want.
Last but not least, the design of the adjustable belt is ergonomic, which can well alleviate our waist’s burden that comes from the heavy tool pouch. The length of the belt can be adjusted with the tri-glide button and it's fastened tightly with a strong and stable buckle, which are all durable, cast-iron and safe. We can adjust the belt according to our waistline. The largest waistline that the belt can reach is 109cm. Except wearing the tool pouch on our waist, we can also adjust the length to fasten the tool pouch on our thigh or to wear the tool pouch diagonally across our body like a bag. I always wear the tool pouch like a bag because I feel it more comfortable to wear it in this way when I'm doing the gardening.
As this tool pouch is handy and convenient, it fits many kinds of persons like electricians, installers, carpenters, scaffolders, fitters and maintenance technicians etc., especially for the workers who work in high place or need to climb the ladder up and down. Of course, it also fits the home use. I always use it when I take care of my garden but my husband uses it more often when he repairs or fixes something.
-The Brief History of The Tool Belt-
The tool pouch is a so convenient invention, you may also be curious about its history like me. Then let’s learn something about it.
In the late 19th century, many companies like Carhatt and Dickies sprung up. Only in thirty years, the work-wear business became a manufacturing powerhouse. And many work-wear companies were sequestered to produce army uniforms during two world wars. After World War II, they were no longer needed by the government. Thus they began to produce the heavy duty clothing of miners, factory and construction workers and then the “carpenter aprons” occurred. Because of the carpenter overalls’ movement constraint, the carpenter overalls were abandoned after a period of time. And the carpenters changed the overalls into jeans and cloth aprons, with which they could move freely. However the cloth aprons which had no necessary support structure to stay open at the top of the pockets were worn out easily and difficult to carry multiple tools.
Until 1950s, the first models of the leather tool belts were often cobbled together at home or custom-made by shoe repair and saddle shops. The leather tool belt was born, but the exact inventor of the tool belt was unknown and difficult to verify. The leather tool belt could offer durability and large open pockets from which the tools and nails could be easily reached. And many kinds of tools could be held in it.
The market of the leather tool belts began to grow quickly in 1970s, and many companies joined to focus on manufacturing and selling the leather tool belts. The leather tool belt was much better than previous overalls and cloth aprons, but the heavy weight of the leather tool belt was its vital downside. The leather tool belt would keep sliding down and cause heavy back strain because of its heavy weight. Many carpenters tried to add suspenders to keep the leather tool belt from sliding down and relieve the burden on their waist.
To meet the need of lightweight and durable tool belt, many companies tried many different materials to get down the weight of tool belt in 1990s. Finally they found and used a material, which was the heavy duty nylon. The nylon was a material that combined durability and lightweight and was utilized in winter sports equipment. Thus the light weight and durable tool pouch appeared. It's the beginning of the lightweight tool pouch, and many other kinds of lightweight tool pouches which were made of materials like Oxford cloth or canvas were produced from then on.
-Using Tool Pouch Occasions-
After I brought the Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt home, my husband and I used it now and then. My husband used it when he wanted to install or repair something and I always used it when I took care of my garden.
As my husband is an amateur electrician and carpenter who always needs to climb up and down the ladder, before he got the Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt, if he was asked to fix or repair something by me or our neighbors in his spare time, he would bring his big tool bag with all kinds of tools. And then he would need to find out the necessary tools from the big bag. Once he finished using one tool, he needed to change another one climbing down the ladder and going back to his big bag. What’s more, the screws and nails were always easy to drop and miss when he used them. It was really annoying.
Since he used the Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt with all the tools collected at once, the efficiency had been improved pretty much. I would share two cases, one was that he installed an automatic clothes hanger and the other was that he repaired our leaking roof with a small crack.
And when he repaired the leaking roof, the tool pouch also played a very important role. As we all know, it was very inconvenient to climb down and up with the ladder from and to the roof when we repaired it. He checked where the leak might be, and then split damaged shakes with a hammer and a chisel. After he finished using the hammer and chisel, he inserted them back to the hammer loop and elastic loop.
And then he used a hacksaw to cut off the nails that secured the broken shake and cut a new shake to fit into the gap. Next he slid in the new shake and secured it with 2 galvanized nails. Finally he sealed any exposed nail heads with roofing cement. During all the processes, he didn’t need to climb down to get his tools and look for tools and also was not afraid of the tools’ falling, as it was so convenient to take out the tools and insert them back into this tool pouch. And he could climb the ladder safely with two hands holding the ladder because the tools were all collected in the tool pouch. Usually the maintenance of one leaking place like this took him at least 2 hours, but he spent only an hour and a half this time.
But a little annoying thing that he found during the roof repairing was that the hammer would touch his leg or the roof when he crouched if he wore the tool pouch on the right side of his waist. He needed to move it to the back side of his waist to avoid that and move it back when he needed the tools. It's easy to move the tool pouch by no matter opening the Velcro fastener or just sliding it along the belt. 
For me, usually I needed to water the plants and flowers. And I also needed to loosen the soil of the plants when the soil got compacted. Furthermore, I should prune the plants and shrubs and remove the weed. So much things I should do and also a lot of tools were needed.
Before I got the Baffect Oxford Cloth Tool Pocket Pouch Belt with Adjustable Nylon Belt, I would bring out all the tools that I needed and place them on the ground. When I finished one thing, I might drop the tool in a place subconsciously. However, some minutes later I might need it again, and I couldn’t remember where I put it. It often took me much time to look for the tools. One more thing, the tools might be left in different places, so I had to look around to collect all the tools when I ended all the tasks.

I adjusted the belt of it and slung it over like a bag. And I put the secateurs, small shovels and small hoe in big pocket and pinned the loppers in the hammer loop. There was no need for me to look for and collect the tools.
