Reviews: Fantastic Shoe Storage Ideas
Shoes shoes shoes, everywhere! There’s nothing worse than a giant pile of dirty shoes in the entryway, garage, laundry room or RV. Well I suppose I can think of a few worse things… but still.
Hi all, this is Tess from the Baffect team. Today I really want to have a big harangue about shoe storage! When you do not have an effective shoe storage plan at home, then everyone’s shoes always end up being a messy pile or scattered everywhere around the home. That is both a trip hazard and an unpleasant sight. Would you agree?
Shoe storage has been a struggle of mine for years until I came across Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack which indeed simplified my life. Not only do these vertical shoe racks get our dirty shoes off the ground, but also they are a perfect solution for the shoe organization in small space. I can’t wait to review this hanging shoe organizer for you. Let's get to it! I’ll start off with the unboxing.
-Unboxing-
This Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack is available in two colors: white and grey. Either color will fit well anywhere, but I prefer white so I ordered a white set.
I received it three days after my order. Its packing was in good condition when it arrived. After opening the outer packing, I saw the brown carton inside. On the front of the carton there were the words baffect and sketches of the hanging shoe racks. I like how detailed these sketches are, in particular four different pairs of shoes hanging on the racks. I also take a fancy on the way Baffect conveys information: making people immediately get the picture on how to use the product with a sketch. Plus it’s obvious that high heels, sneakers, high top canvas shoes and leather shoes can be held by the shoe racks. This means that the racks are suitable for most shoes.
On the back of the carton, there was a logo of Baffect, bearing a little house adjacent to a tree, and a slogan that said ''Colour your life''.
Next I opened the carton and took a good look at what’s inside. Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack set includes 4 individually packaged shoe racks, each of which were folded as a board, a bag of nails or something and a card introducing Baffect.
The shoe rack is made of PP (polypropylene) and four racks only weigh 375g (0.83lbs).
This is the backside view of the rack. It can be seen that the two holes in the upper left and upper right corner, seen from the front, are two hollow cylindrical projections from the back. Now it's obvious that they're used to push through nails. The same groove seen from the front is a bump seen from the back.
I found that the edge of the back plate was not a regular rectangle. There was an upward curve in the middle of the lower edge of the back plate, leaving some space between the back plate and the lever.
Now let’s have a look at the accessory kit. I opened the bag and counted. We’ve got 10 nails and ten green plastic plugs. It’s apparent that this shoe rack can also be fixed with nails. Their sizes determine how big of a hole you would need to drill. The nail is 5*30mm and the plug is M8.
The above is about my unboxing, and next let’s figure out how to install it.
-Installation-
I learned that there are 2 ways to install Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack. It can be mounted on the smooth wall with sticky pads or nailed to the rough wall with nails. I'll try the adhesive installation first. I saw a detailed installation tutorial video as well as an installation process diagram on the web page for this product. The instructions were clear and it looks super easy to install them.
First I checked the kinds of walls suitable for the adhesive. It’s so thoughtful that Baffect lists them for us.
I couldn’t wait to get the messy shoes at the entryway off the ground, so I would try to install one shoe rack on the wall next to the entryway. After watching the installation video, I realized that the bumps on the clear sticky tabs are there to snap on the backing plate. I inserted the sticky tab into the middle of the backing plate first.
I peeled the protective film off one side of the sticky pads and stuck the pads on the two sides of the bumps of board.
Then I removed the protective film off the side of the three sticky pads that was supposed to be in contact with the wall.
Next I checked the position where I wanted to mount the rack and wiped down the area with a dry cloth. I held the rack, ready to stick on the wall. Note: make sure it’s level.
Last but not least, I made the rack stand for 24 hours without putting anything in it before using, in which way the rack will fully attach to the wall.
Last I put the lever down and stuck it in the position of the tongue of the shoe. The shoe is then held securely in place. It's fabulous how effective such a simple design can be. Really admire its inventor!
During use, I found the designs of Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack were quite functional and effective. I’m going to show the features of this product I really like.
-Features-
As I’ve mentioned before, Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack comes in a pack of 4, so less than $5 each is fairy inexpensive. And the number of four in a set can meet the daily needs of my family.
Not counting the width of the lever, the width of a shoe rack is 26cm (10.24in). It can hold E width shoes and even size 14 shoes of my husband’s.
The shoe rack is suitable for storing most shoes like high heels, leather shoes, sneakers, slippers, boots, etc. However, it may not work well for some footwear designs since the lever is not spring loaded. It’s not good for sandals, flats, flip flops or small shoes. Again, Baffect prepares a list for us.
I was confused about most designs of this product during my unboxing before. However, after using it, I found that every detail was neat. The back plate does perform a vital function, for example. The backplate with a certain thickness can prevent the sole from chaffing or staining the wall, thus effectively keeping the wall clean.
I also tried my chunky heels and they would not fit into the groove. But I was surprised to find that I could turn the shoe backward with the heel stuck on the lever.
So the above are the features of Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack, pretty amazing, right? If you're still struggling with what kind of shoe organizer to choose, I can share my experience as a reference.
-Why I chose Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack-
I have always been a shoe lover, but have also been bad at organising. The messy shoes are always problems that I constantly try to fix. Since my house is not that large and is stuffed with all kinds of things, there’s no room for hall trees, shoe cabinets & drawers, even normal shoe racks & storage shelves in my house. I would love to put a bench with shoe storage at entryway but they can be very expensive.
I did see many fellows share their DIY ideas, but I thought it was troublesome and required many materials. So I quit almost immediately.

-Entryway-
Our family is one of those “no shoes in the house” families so we kept all of our shoes that we were currently wearing in the entryway. I was always embarrassed for people to come into my house with me because the entryway was usually a mess of shoes! What's worse, no one can find both shoes when it’s time to leave.
But things are different now. Baffect Hanging Shoe Organizer is a great product for stashing those shoes in tight quarters near the entry door, which is wonderful to keep that entryway clear! Now instead of tripping over all the shoes at the back door, the shoes are completely out of the way. -Laundry Room-
We have a very small laundry area, and a very narrow entrance area into the laundry room. I needed to use this area for muddy shoes and clothes since we don’t have any other area for a mud room. But I think it would be just as messy if we had a mud room. So what we really need is some effective shoe storage ideas. This is the BEFORE picture of my laundry room:
-Garage-
Does your garage look like a giant junk drawer? Provided that you store shoes in the garage, like us, your shoes might end up being so messy that you just want to sell or throw away. This is a pretty common storage issue.
- RV -
On vacation we often take our camper van for a trip, which is the thing we look forward to most in our busy lives. But the space inside the camper is way more limited, so shoe storage is once again a headache. Our camper has virtually no room near the entrance for any sort of shoe storage. It’s a challenge to find spots for my husband's size 14 shoes/sandals he removes as he enters. Mine is also a problem. And you must know how dirty RV travelers' shoes are, since we're out there all the time.
Muddy shoes on the walkway will not only trip us but will also make the inside of the car dirty. Ordinary shoe rack looked like they would hold a fairly large or sturdy pair of shoes, but just didn't work in my situation, taking up way too much room in my RV. I have bought other self adhesive shoe holders that have not worked - they either fall off the wall when the camper is moving, or the heat even looses the adhesive. So we had to put our shoes in a plastic bucket outside our camper, and of course they got dirtier and stinky.
However, Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack saved us. I love how sturdy the product is. Its adhesive strength is beyond my expectation. I installed a set of shoe racks vertically on the cabinet next to the door, in which way it is convenient to change shoes and also good for the shoe ventilation. The racks work great for keeping our shoes, a dream outcome. I definitely recommend it for RV or trailer living.

All in all, Baffect Foldable Wall Mounted Shoe Rack is no doubt a terrific product. Wish I found it sooner!
It's an inexpensive way to keep our shoes organized and I definitely get my money’s worth. It is super easy to install, you just slap it on or hang it on nails basically. With simple but effective design, they hold various shoes securely with no worries. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with limited space. If you want to get rid of messy shoes, just try this. You’ll find a way to keep your shoes tidy, on display and out of the way.
